What is it?
The Short Stay No Gap Knee and Hip Joint Replacement Program removes some of the stress from joint replacement surgery by offering the certainty of no-gap treatment. For Westfund members, if your private hospital cover includes joint replacement*, we’ll fully cover the costs for your surgeon, anaesthetist, surgical assistant, rehab and hospital stay (clinical criteria applies).
The only costs to you will be any applicable excess or co-payment (depending on your cover) and initial consultation fees (between $200 and $500+).

Who’s it for?
If you’ve had private hospital cover that includes knee and hip joint replacements for more than 12 months, you may be eligible.*
You’ll also need to meet clinical criteria as set by the program providers – they’ll discuss this with you when you enquire or go to your consultation.

Book in a consultation and book your surgery
Contact the dedicated team at East Sydney Private Hospital on 1800 1 ORTHO (1800 167 846) or via their website to book your consultation.
Once your cover & clinical eligibility have been confirmed, the East Sydney Private Hospital will schedule your treatment – there’s nothing more you need to do with us.
We'll take care of the rest
All bills will be sent directly to Westfund for payment. The only invoices you should expect to receive will be for your excess or co-payment (if applicable to your cover) and the fee for your initial consultation.
*Must have private hospital cover for at least 12 months that includes joint replacements. ‘No-gap treatment’ excludes hospital excess or co-payment and initial consultation fees. Must be accepted into the program by a participating surgeon and be admitted at East Sydney Private Hospital.
